NEW MUSIC
Experimental/Progressive, Blues, Bagpipes/Brass, Singer/Songwriter, Old School Gospel, and Southern Rock are featured from recent work here at Blantone Music!
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita brought to these beautiful mountains the decidedly original sounds of Raja Gaj as they escaped the aftermath of the devastation. I mastered and duplicated this work for these great guys. It's hard to categorize their music, but if I had to, it would be: Peter Gabriel meets Pink Floyd...
Freddy Bradburn is a neighbor of mine. He's been out there doing the thing for a while now. It has been my great good pleasure to work with him recently. I appreciate it that I got to play a lot on the record, too! Freddy writes daily. His is a quirky, intelligent, and compelling style...it covers a lot of emotional territory...and he is a great fingerstyle guitarist. Freddy's long-time musical partner, Lisa Stevens worked on Live From An Empty room with us and cut a few tracks of her own while she was here.
WSNB hails from this part of the woods. All I can say is these boys KICK ASS! Rockin' Blues with a heavy Delta influence. This project goes down in the books as my favorite to date. Great music, great musicians, great guys!
Karen Bond does gospel the "old school" way. It was indeed a pleasure to work with her on her first recording project. If you like your gospel with fire and feel, you'll like this as much as i do.
Makia Groove is another project that's come in for mastering and duplication. This 3-piece band of multi-instrumentalists from Asheville, NC packs a lot of what the band name implies. Enjoy the cool Miles Davis cover!
Blue Ridge Brass and the Montreat Scottish Pipe & Drums have returned to Blantone Music for another fine effort, recorded live at the Chapel of the Prodigal on the campus of Montreat College. What a great sounding room! I had the pleasure of recording the Lenoir Saxophone Ensemble there as well. Jim Laughridge, Joe Bailey, and company turned in another fine performance!
Velvet Truckstop hasn't forgotten what Southern Rock is all about. Jamie Dose, my good friend Jerry McNeely, and the boys are cranking out some original material reminiscent of the heyday of the genre. Jamie does the writing and Jerry does the arranging. Get a sneak preview of their EP due out soon!

15 new clips to represent what's been happening here over the last several months...and it has been busy! All files are 320kbps...the highest quality. I recommend downloading these to your hard drive and then playing them...some old favorites remain here as well. It's my pleasure to bring these to you. Check back often (I'll try to keep things updated more...but if I have to be behind the console...well, somebody's got to do it!).
