My name is Stephen Blanton, and I am proud to be the sole proprietor of this fine operation.  Having plied the public performance side of music for a great many years, I've moved into these studio pursuits in large part over the last 17 years.  In the work I've been fortunate to do, I'm thankful to have developed meaningful relationships with people through these pursuits... around the corner, around the block...around the world!  I'd like for you to be among that number.  For browsing later, I've created a BROCHURE FOR THE STUDIO, WHICH YOU CAN DOWNLOAD HERE. There are several pictures of the studio just down the page here as well.

I've been fortunate to be involved in some rewarding musical projects over the years.  My 30+ years of musical pursuits has included leading and fronting several bands, and currently CITIZEN MOJO.  I continue as a W. C. Handy-Award-nominated, 26 year producer/host of 88.7FM WNCW’s Saturday Night House Party.  These last several years have been more consumed with the audio engineering end of this business, and it's been most rewarding in many respects.

THE STUDIO

It's very easy to say "I have a recording studio" these days, what with the pervasiveness of relatively inexpensive recording technology; but I've built 3700 square feet here, half of which is dedicated studio space for tracking, mixing, and mastering, centered around a custom-built Rupert Neve Designs 5088 console.

I am located on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Ridge Mountains outside of Asheville, NC; situated conveniently to I-40 and US Hwy's 70 and 221, and just a few short miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The feedback that I get consistently is that this is an easy place for artists to work. Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer emeritus Artimus Pyle says it's the nicest "home" studio he's ever seen.

Construction is double layer resilient channel 5/8inch sheetrock on 2"x 6" framing,  hardwood maple flooring, solid core doors, double-paned control tower-type windows, Mogami cabling throughout, and acoustic treatment, a lot of which I designed myself after much research and testing.
